Acts 5
The deception of Ananias and Sapphira was the beginnings of a highly unnecessary secret combination. They could have been honest about not giving all and they wouldn’t have died. Why did they choose to lure rather than honestly withholding a part? Perhaps their hearts were even blacker than we know and they joined the saints and made covenants with the intent to defraud.
Gamaliel was a wise man. I wonder if he ever accepted the gospel.
