1 Corinthians 1
I wonder if the admonition to “speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you” came because Paul had heard they they were having divisions among the saints at Corinth or if there were divisions between the saints of Corinth and saints elsewhere, or if this was just general preventative counsel. It was the first according to the report of people from the house of Chloe. Some claimed to follow Christ, others to follow Peter, and others to follow Paul. This indicates that even some of those early saints failed to recognize that Christ was more than a great teacher.

Both Paul and Elder Maxwell remind me not to ignore the fact that to this who don’t receive the spirit into their hearts many of the true doctrines appear to be foolishness, confusion, or both.
