Revelation 17 – 18
Who is the mother of abominations. Is she an established organization or just a representation of all the evil actors who take advantage of whatever organizations they are connected with (making the mother of abominations an amalgamation rather than an organization)?
What I’d clear is that she was nurtured by Rome. The seven kings were the seven emperors who has the name Cesar. This revelation came during the rule of the sixth Cesar (the later half of 68 AD) and predicted that the seventh would only reign a short while. The seventh and final Cesar reigned for 13 weeks. Interestingly all seven of the Cesar’s were alive during the ministry of Christ. The ten later kings who have no kingdom but have the power of a long could be heads of an international organization such as the U.N. (as conceived in the Left Behind books). The ten kings shall devour Rome because they hate her. Could out be that the mother of abominations was the Catholic Church but that our modern beast hates her because the modern leaders of the church are again striving earnestly to follow Christ? Could the U.N. strip the political autonomy of the Vatican away?
If the catholic church were to crumble politically what would become of her 900 million members worldwide? Would they flock to other churches? Would the bulk of them abandon the pretense of religion just as so many do nothing more than receive baptism and first communion and then attend services only twice a year?
