2 Nephi 11 – 17
It never occurred to me before that when a man shall say to his brother, “thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler,” it is because he perceives his brother to be economically secure and that when the brother says, “in my house there is neither bread nor clothing,” he is saying he isn’t economically secure. In other words, those who appear wealthy may do so without having any wealth – like today.

“My people are fine into captivity because they have no knowledge.” Becoming captive because of falling into the trap of the social gospel is an example of that because a knowledge of the truth shows the failings of the social gospel but without that knowledge of the truth the social gospel sounds appealing (or at the very least, harmless and popular).
