The lesson from Paul isn’t his conversion, miraculous as that was, but rather his earnest devotion to what he thought was right both before and after his conversion. Paul threw himself 100% into whatever he felt was right. When he thought the Christians were perverting the law of Moses he persecuted then with gusto. When he was convinced of the divinity of Christ he devoted his entire life to preaching Christ and was even more apt to abandon Mosaic restrictions than the Christians he had persecuted years before. The Lord can always find us for one who is earnest in his convictions. That is why He desires that we should be anything but lukewarm.
