EFY Round II
We went up to Logan today to drop Alyssa off at EFY (Especially For Youth) – I hope she had a life-changing and faith-building well there. We took the kids around to it various houses from when we lived there and got Aggie ice cream then stopped at the Air Force museum on the way…

Too demanding
It has become clear that part of Laura’s problem is that she demands so much that it is impossible for her to credit anyone for helping her. All help is seem as coming too late or too little it being given grudgingly. Neither I nor anyone else can satisfy her until she learns to give…

New camping spot
We went camping again this week and choose to go directly to the campsite that we didn’t check on Friday last week – the one we drove past on Saturday morning. We found a nice spot further from the road – although there were plenty of campers around we still found an unused fire pit.…

Timpanogos
We hiked Timpanogos cave as a family today. Isaac chose to go to the temple instead but the other nine of us had a great time. The hike up to the cave was harder than Laura remembered but we all weathered it pretty well. The cave was awesome. In the decade plus since any of…

Culprit identified
Apparently later this afternoon the American Fork police left a message on Laura’s phone indication that they had located the driver who hit us and that we could call them to learn more and be able to get his insurance information. It will be interesting to learn what they now know.

Hit and run
Tonight we had the memorable experience of having a distracted driver beer into us as we drove the van home from the grocery store. Everyone was in the car (except Isaac, who is at scout camp this week) so we all got a shared experience that will be talked about for a long time. The…

Ready to be stupid
Laura seems set tonight on making the stupidest possible choice she can. For years I have realized that she could up and decide to end our marriage and I knew that doing so would be the worst choice she could make for the children and frankly for her as well. I don’t know how firmly…

Stake Conference notes
President Smith: Sometimes we feel like we are forgotten or overlooked but we are not. Heavenly Father and our Savior at watching over us. Howard W. Hunter said “Anything the Savior lays His hands upon lives. … If He is allowed to lay His hands upon a marriage {or} a family it lives.” Sister I…
