Level headed
I’m sure that Limhi was happy that he had not acted hastily to kill the men he had taken for spies when he caught them with his guards. If he had he might never have known that the people of Zerahemla were yet alive.

Covenant Follow-up
After the people made their covenant Benjamin recorded their names so that they might be remembered and encouraged. While the covenants we make are individual the keeping of covenants Isa colective effort—that is, we do not leave people alone to weather the spiritual storms partly because the keeping of covenants requires that we teach out…

Closing the loop
There is an important teaching pattern in the way that King Benjamin asks his people if they believe the words he has taught. He gives them a chance to affirm for themselves their belief which opens the door for them to both reiterate his words and offer a covenant because of what he taught. The…

Two aborted deaths
It had only been about a week since Jesus has raised Lazarus from the dead. I believe Mary Magdalene was there to witness that. With that memory fairly recent, how different did it feel to see Jesus risen from the dead without someone to raise him? Did it feel at all the same or did…

All He requireth
When Jesus says His yolk is easy and His burden is light He is referring to the “all He requireth is that ye keep His commandments for which, if ye do, He doth immediately bless you and prosper you.” That sounds like a very good deal/light burden.

Nephite General Conference
I picture or modern general conference in the description of the people going up to hear King Benjamin. they pitched their tents in families—we often gather as extended families for conference; every man in his own tent who could not fit within the walls of the temple—within the walls of the temple would be at…

Transfer of power
In reading Mosiah 1 i saw it for the first time as a transfer of power and thought about the things behind the scenes of Benjamin instructing Mosiah and instructing others to assist and obey Mosiah as they had assisted and obeyed him.
