Jews vs Children of the Covenant
As I read this prophecy I am not always clear about whether some of the prophecies refer to the literal descendants of the Jews and which refer to the spiritual descendants ie. the faithful keepers of the new covenant.

Focus on the beam
We should keep our focus as much as possible on the van in our own eye and on our own fruit rather than paying primary attention to the most in our brothers eye out the fruit of his works.

Resetting the boundaries
When Christ came to the neighbors His first task after establishing His identity was to set clear boundaries about what was expected among those following Him. He defined baptism and the behaviors of disciples.

I realized that the people breaking into tribes in our day could be different than the government being dissolved, it could be more like political parties fracturing so that we have many smaller parties with different regional mixes. I love the promises to those who are pure in heart, that they shall blossom as a very fruitful bough, and that they shall be able to rejoice.

Build me a house
The Lord was serious enough about having a house built where he cousins endow His people that He gave multiple revelations calling on the people to build it.

Turning knowingly to iniquity
I feel like we are not far removed from the Nephite society not many years after they had destroyed the Gadianton robbers when they turned quickly from righteousness to wickedness. We feel that unstable and there are certainly those who wish for a king figure (regardless of what official title he might hold).

Bold wickedness
I’m an constantly amazed at how bold Giddianhi was in declaring his intentions. It makes me wonder if we will ever see someone so boldly wicked in our time. I wouldn’t count on it but I wouldn’t rule it out either.

A short reprieve
The period of righteousness after the sign of the coming of Christ was extremely short. It was less than 5 years before the people as a whole were actively disbelieving the signs that they saw.
