Good vs bad leaders
Wicked leaders tend to bring their people down towards their level of wickedness but while righteous leaders will try to lead the people to be better they are not guaranteed to be successful because they will not force people to be righteous. Contingency plans
I suspect that Gadianton had planned his getaway in advance without letting Kishkumen know in case Kishkumen failed or was caught. Not letting Kishkumen know would ensure that Kishkumen could not divulge that contingency plan.

One generation
It is amazing to think that the sons of Pahoran, who had thought against king-men to retain his judgement seat, had not all learned to value the form of government such that they would reject the aid of murderers and those seeking for power.

Mounting frustrations
In the midst of a glimmer of good news Moroni is thrown back to reality with another unexpected setback as the city of Nephihah falls to the Lamanites. I know that feeling of taking hit after hit and how it hurts more when coming in the heels of finish feeling like something was starting to…
-
Ever changing tactics
When we find something that works we can’t rest on our success because the adversary is constantly learning and trying to counter anything that has succeeded before. It is because he understood this principle that Moroni was constantly upgrading his defenses and his tactics.

Blessed to burdensome levels
Helaman and his men were able to capture so many Lamanites and provisions to the point that they couldn’t maintain all the prisoners. They faced the challenge of how to manage all their prisoners.
