    In talking about showing great things to the children of men the Lord declared that without faith the only great things that people will see are destructions upon Babylon. I would interpret that to mean that even those without faith will recognize that the systems of men and of wickedness are crumbling and failing.

    This prophecy from Isaiah and this volunteered sign from God offer a series of contradictions. The land shall become desolate and yet everyone remaining shall be able to eat butter and honey. I think the message is that even in situations of distress the Lord can and will bless those that turn to Him.
