    I have noticed before the similarity between Alma turning back to Ammonihah after he was rejected with Samuel turning back to Zerahemla after he was rejected. Tonight I realized that Heidi had dinner the same thing in turning back to the people of Zerahemla after they devolved into squabbling.

    It is when things are easy that people can lost sight of their dependent on God. If they can stay focused on Him and remember their common heritage with all those around them in those times it displays a great strength of spirit.

    Nephi felt that the people had sincerely changed during the famine but that change was short-lived. What is it that makes sustainable, durable change in people (individually and as a society)? Punishments and threats clearly are ineffective for long-term change.
