Why keep records
Here Nephi first gets to the meat of why he keeps a record, and even two records – the are things to come which people need to know about and ask because of a Savior and a plan that will lift the children of men unto salvation.

Promised land and rebellious brothers
It seems that the land they had called Bountiful on the seashore may have seemed less bountiful when compared to the bounty of their promised land. I wonder if there was a different way to respond to Laman and Lemuel that might have led them to repent without their first binding Nephi and having to…

A visionary man
Nephi was a visionary man like his father. Both of them had the vision to recognize what the Lord asked if them and to go perform whatever they were called to do, even when it was uncomfortable or didn’t make sense to them.

Considering Nephi’s experience we can surmise that Lehi had done…

Crystal clear
I wonder if the Torah ever contained doctrine as clear as Lehi’s dream. It seems obvious to me that Father in Heaven would desire comparable plainness for any of His children who would accept it. The question is whether such things we had and then list of if the Jews were never ready to receive…

A natural progression
It makes sense that after prophesying regarding his seed, that Lehi would be in time with the instruction to bring wives for his sons on their journey – thus the task of recruiting Ishmael.

Maintaining secrecy
I always thought that Nephi wanted Zoram to come with them because the Jews might be hunting for Lehi but it occurs to me that the bigger concern might be that they would seek out Nephi for having killed Laban who was clearly a person of prominence.
