Nephi ben Lehi
I can’t decode if it would be easier to be righteous while living in the midst of great wickedness or while living in the must of great wilderness. In the one car you would have ample opportunity to benefit and collaborate with others in meeting the material needs of your family but you would be…

Lehi
At times I wonder how religious Lehi was earlier in his life before he received his call to preach in Jerusalem and later removed his family from that wickedness. We really have no way or need to know the answer to that. The important thing for us to know is that once lehi answered the…

Affliction
“I have refined thee. I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.” Affliction that comes because of or discipleship probably hold a special place in the refining process. I’m noticing how prominent this is one the period from Daniel to the restoration of Jerusalem during the reign of Darius.

1 Nephi 20 – 22 Nephi read those passages of Isaiah to his brothers to give them an uplifting, hopeful view of what the Lord had in store for them in this new land. Some of what he seems to have said to them might not have madee sense since it related directly to things…

1 Nephi 8–12 Some details of Lehi’s dream are most particularly for him (wandering for His in darkness before praying and the fact that Laman and Lemuel wouldn’t need him for example). Some day I’d love to have my own vision of the tree of life and see what personal details the Lord would include…

1 Nephi 4–7 I wonder if Nephi initially recognized the first promoting to kill Laban as coming from the Spirit. Perhaps at first he thought it was his own wish for an easy way out of this challenge. Why was Laban wearing his armour when he was supposedly out with the elders of the Jews?…
