  • Parable and vision

I just noticed that the various results of people coming out failing to come to the tree of life in Lehi’s vision is comparable to the parable of the sower that Jesus taught. How one starts is no guarantee of how one will finish.

  • Easily swayed

Laman and Lemuel didn’t complain about going back to Jerusalem to find wives but on the journey back with the family if Ishmael they began to complain again. I suspect they may have been influenced by some of the family of Ishmael (among his sons and daughters) who were not enthusiastic about leaving Jerusalem. (By…

  • Passing through sorrow

It was by passing through the Sirius and worry for her son’s that Sariah became fully confident in Lehi as a prophet.

  • Not knowing

Meu hard the voice of the Spirit warn about the dangers if a nation dwindling in unbelief. I can imagine that memory came back later when he had the vision of his people doing exactly that despite having the scriptures because of his efforts to get them from Laban.

  • Quoting Isaiah

I have always thought that there were parts of Isaiah that were quoted more than once. I finally took the time to verify that the words of Isaiah that Jacob quotes in 2 Nephi 6 were also quoted by Nephi in 1 Nephi 21.

  • Overwhelmed

It sounds like there was so much information in the words of Isaiah that the brothers on Nephi we’re overwhelmed and unable to understand all that was being said. I know that as i have become more familiar with the scriptures that things which has been confusing out unnoticed before later become clear to me.

  • Contrast

After clearly saying that Israel was known to be transgressors and repeatedly would turn their backs on the Lord Isaiah makes clear that the Lord still intends to honor His covenant with them by pouring out incredible blessings upon the House of Israel even if it would be necessary to chasten them and leave them…
