  • False Apostles

Paul talks about false Apostles, men who come preaching the name of Christ but not the doctrine of Christ. It seems clear that their motivation is to build up their own popularity and influence among Christians by invoking the name of Christ. This sounds like Tim Ballard today (to use a present example of someone…

  • Commended by the Lord

Paul makes a good point that those who comment themselves are not approved, only those who are commended by the Lord.

  • Not connecting

I don’t know what it is about Paul’s words to the Corinthians but I just don’t connect with much of what he said. Maybe at some other point in my life I’ll see more there.

  • A veil over the heart

  • Christ always pleased His Father

Jesus testifies that he always did that which was pleasing to Heavenly Father. That fits with the testimony of Heavenly Father that He was well pleased with Christ.

  • Judgement is universal

People today talk about death and taxes being universal. Judgement by the Savior is more universal than both of them.

  • Not boasting

Aside from the fact that he was trying not to boast, Paul’s message in the latter chapters of 2 Corinthians send somewhat muddled.

  • Living bountifully

Paul notes that those who give bountifully are blessed bountifully. If we live freely for the Lord we will have little need to worry where out temporal needs will be met. Note that this isn’t a promise of economic it financial plenty on an individual level but it is a promise of having out needs…

  • Paul on Equality

I’ll like Paul’s description of equality as being everyone during their times of abundance lifting those in need and being logged in their times of need by those having abundance.
