2 Nephi 12 – 14The words of Isaiah have never seemed so glaringly current before. They have always seemed possible/probable, but this time they seem overtly applicable. The base man flaunts his sins and behaves himself proudly against the honorable man. Children oppress their parents and our sin is as Sodom and cannot be hid…

2 Nephi 10 – 11I think I should consider chapter 10 to be part of chapter 9 – Jacob continues in the same line of prophecy from the previous chapter. Nephi sees the same value in the words of Isaiah as he does in the words of Jacob that he recorded. All three of them…

2 Nephi 7 – 8Even the wilderness in Zion shall be like Eden. In other words, it will be perfect and able to sustain life. It shall be sweet and beautiful when compared to life outside of Zion. I think we should remember however, that there will be wilderness times and places in Zion.

2 Nephi 2“By the law no flesh is justified” – this takes on new meaning since education week. The law cannot pass a judgment of innocent because law defines guilt, it does not define innocence. In the pre-mortal world Satan backed a plan of ignorance (blind, forced obedience), but once Adam and Eve were on…

2 Nephi 1I had never noticed before that Lehi declares the promised land to be a place of inheritance to all those who should be led out of Jerusalem. It is as if he predicted the coming of the Mulekites. (Although that promise applies to more than just the Mulekites.)

2 Nephi 32-33After showing the gate by which we are to enter the covenant, Nephi teaches that we may rely on the Holy Ghost to show us the way to go in order to keep the covenant and stay on the path which leads to our eternal home.

2 Nephi 31Christ showed his willingness to follow God by being baptized. We show our willingness to follow Christ by being baptized. That is the covenant which will open the floodgates of His blessings and lead us home if we continue to be willing to be led.
