    The Nephites and Lamanites were in a much more sure position relative to the Gadianton rivers because they were slow to recognize or acknowledge the problem that was blossoming around them. Had they recognized and responded earlier the problem may not have grown to the proteins that it did – not unlike or current pandemic.
