Mission of Christ
Christ came that he might glorify His Father and liberate the captive and reign over the people, especially the covenant people. Through His death he overcame death and liberated all mankind.

The messenger of the covenant
The message of the gospel is centered on the Savior – I never considered the Savior as the messenger of the covenant that He represents.

Christ as Lord
I’m surprised at how few references there are too Christ as Lord. I would have expected many more.

The light of the world
Christ is the light of the world and those who follow His light need never walk in darkness.

Our attitudes about judgement are telling
The righteous are more likely to welcome judgement, this if we are righteous we are more likely to welcome the chance to be judged by Christ. (This doesn’t hold true for those who are preparing beating themselves up because they may expect the same from the Lord.)

A righteous judge
Christ gave His life so that a righteous judgement could be given to men. Without His gift either men would be universally rejected from eternal life or they would be unfairly rewarded. Because of His intercession we can righteously be accepted into heaven.

Ye cannot say that the Lord delays His coming
This is our day when the Lord hastens his work until the fulfilling of all his covenants.

Three Nephites today
Mormon said that the three Nephites would minister among the gentiles and among the Jews and eventually among the lost tribes. I have a feeling that they are working among the lost tribes today.

Sorrow in the fourth generation
I never considered the significance of the fact that Christ told his disciples not long after he had visited the people that while none of the present generation would be lost, the fourth generation would fall away. They knew long in advance that their marvelous peace would be temporary even if it lasted a comparatively…

To try our faith
Mormon was planning to share all the marvelous things that Jesus taught but was commanded to only share a portion so that our faith could be tested before we were entrusted with those greater things.
