Fractured society
If our government was destroyed I think our sickest would fracture like the Nephite society did but I wonder upon what lines it would organize. I suspect that religion would be one way that groups would form. Some groups would form around geography. Few would form around family because few families are large enough anymore…

Corrupted by power
It always amazes me that the lawyers and judges became so corrupted by their power in so short a time that they revived the secret oaths that they had so recently eradicated after nearly being destroyed by the robbers of Gadianton.

Our time
The thirtieth year where the nation began to be broken up by classes sounds similar to our world today. We have those who return railing for railing and those few who refuse to revile again when they are reviled.

Lead by prophets
The Nephites were fortunate to be lead by prophets as they faced the threat by the Gadiantons.

Bluff and Bluster
Giddianhi sounds a lot like Donald Trump – speaking boldly and acting as if his cause were just and he was in the right – when he knows as well as he stands that he is selling only for his own power and influence without regard to what is good or right.

Fifteen years
It only took less than fifteen years from the time of the sign for the people to be so threatened by the Gadiantons that the Nephites and Lamanites united against the rivers for their very survival.
