  • Three days in utter darkness

I am imagining what it would be like to go for three days without any light. Frankly, the voice in the darkness would be something to cling to when the vapor of darkness is literally palpable.

  • Appealing to emotion

Giddianhi tried to appeal to the emotions of Lachoneus and the Nephites by flattering then in their efforts and using their terminology (“ye stand as if ye were supported by a god”) even though he didn’t believe a word of what he was saying. He also covered his bases by appealing to their emotions on…

  • Parallels to Esther

The story of the people setting a date to kill the believers reminds me of Esther. • So much more

I never really thought about how much more it a foundation Jesus laid for the Nephites than are recorded in the Book of Mormon. That foundation set the stage for generations of peace.

  • Perspective

From our human perspective we can often conclude that those who are not living the comments are happier or more free than this who are but we forget the promises that obedience beings that we will be brought up as calves in the stall.

  • An apt reminder

It should tell us something about what Jesus wanted the people to know that He quoted Isaiah saying “the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed but my kindness shall not depart from thee.”

  • The marvelous work

Where are we on the marvelous work that the Lord promised in this last day? The work has commenced but I wonder if we are still near the beginning or if we are coming anywhere near the end.
