Thinking of others
Everything Ammon did was with the welfare of others in mind. He sought to preserve the flicks in order to save his fellow servants. He smote of arms rather than killing then men who came against him because he didn’t desire to take their lives even as he was defending the flocks from them.

Things Alma knew
When Alma told the people that if they were guilty they would find that they would rather be buried under a mountain than stand before God he knew what he was talking about because he had felt that way during his days of unconsciousness when he began to accept his guilt.

Ammonihah
I wonder if Alma recognized the angel who had brought the first message of repentance to him when he again came to encourage and direct Alma. When Alma was told that the people of Ammonihah were studying to undermine the liberty of the Nephites I wonder if he had any more specific address if what…

Born of God
I get the feeling that after relating the story of their fathers, those who were converted by the preaching of Alma in the land of Mormon, Alma asked the people if they had been born of God because that was how their fathers had spoken about their conversation. That was perhaps a key phrase in…

A close call
The epistle of Moroni to Pahoran was sharp enough that it could easily have sent the receiver into an angry, defensive attitude. Pahoran could have tried argue with Moroni or attacked him for his ignorance if the challenges Pahoran was facing. Thankfully Pahoran chose to receive the rebuke with humility and ask for assistance.

By small things
I took participate note of the fact that the message from the Nephites spies caused the Lamanite prisoners to revolt which actually served to preserve Helaman and his men. I also realized for the first time that the reason Helaman wrote to Moroni was because of the lack of support from the government. Seeing that…

Getting sidetracked
Moroni wrote to answer about exchanging prisoners but went off on a tangent about the wicked root of the war and insisting that the Lamanites withdraw. Ammoron must have been confused to read that as he expected to hear about prisoners. The funny thing is that if Ammoron had confined his response to the prisoner…
