The mark of the Amlicites
I wonder if the Amlicites marked themselves like the Lamanites before they joined their armies or only after those armies merged. It would seem that they would not want to mark themselves like the Lamanites before they merged if they had any thought of drawing away more Nephites to their side.

Timed with discord
Did the Lamanites attack at the time of the contention with the Amlicites because they were aware of the dispute (even if it had not yet blossomed to way) and felt that the Nephites would be vulnerable at this time? That seems more likely than a mere coincidence.

Liberality, industry, and wealth
It occurs to me that the way we distribute money can greatly vary the effectiveness of that distribution. If we amply supply those with the greatest need we receive much more benefit per unit of aid than if we help those with modest needs and much more benefit than if we assist those with superficial…

The first test
Not more than a year after they covenanted to defend the freedom of the Nephites, the Sons of Helaman were put to the rest of battle when they choose to reissue their lives to save the men of Antipus.
