When Aaron sought to temper the enthusiasm of Ammon, Ammon responded by digging down on his pause for his Lord and why such enthusiastic praise was warranted.

Ammon was correct that they had great reason to rejoice and that nobody could ever give God too much glory.

The people of Ammon willingly choose to risk their mortal lives by refusing to defend themselves rather than take any risk regarding their eternal life. A thousand and five that day lost their mortal lives but none lost their eternal lives and more than a thousand gained their eternal lives as a result.

I wonder if Anti-Nephi-Lehi spoke of his “great God” so much partly because he had been raised believing in a great Spirit and out of habit continually included that superlative when speaking of God.

It is interesting to see how much the Lamanites were converted in large groups rather than as individuals.

In theory the king of the Lamanites commanded a large civilization that virtually surrounded the Nephites. Functionally he likely had very little influence over the mood idle Lamanites who lived in the borders of the seashore.

Once Aaron knew that the king would, in fact, believe his words he was able to teach boldly and unfold the whole plan of redemption swiftly.

While Ammon was converting a people at and helping to make them free, Aaron and others were having less remarkable missions. I wonder if the independence of the land of Ishmael was the reason that Ammon labored exclusively there.
