The father of Lamoni talked big until he was at the mercy of Ammon. He was then surprised that even witha position of finance, Ammon and nothing for himself but freedom for Lamoni. That makes no sense unless he actually cares about Lamoni.

I wonder why Ammon only told Lamoni about saving his brethren while but sharing the warning he received about going to the land of Nephi.

Effective deterrent
I don’t think anything could have been so effective in deterring the people from harming Ammon as seeing someone fall over dead when trying to attack him while he was unconscious

Greater vision
Ammon saw the opportunity to defend the flocks as a chance to get his fellow servants to listen to him. Little could he imagine that it would put him in a position to have the king and all his servants not only listen but be converted.

What courage or faith did it require of the servant who, believing Ammon to be the Great Spirit, told him as he turned to leave that Lamoni desired him to stay?

It is interesting to me how closely the beliefs of Nehor mimic the beliefs of those who followed only a vague spiritualism – accepting the existence of a hands-off deity such that they need never feel condemned for doing what they wanted to do.

Why did the servants follow Ammon after only three days? It must have been because in their distress he was the only one who had an idea of what should be done.

Did the sons of Mosiah take on what was, as expected, a huge effort to convert the Lamanites because of how much they had repented of themselves?

I work of Alma and Amulek was instrumental in having the Nephites in such a place spiritually that when the people of Anon sought refugee they got gas then lands and offered to guard them against their enemies.
