Prophetic commentary
Love the clarity that comes from prophetic commentary as Mormon points out that this time of prosperity was based in righteousness and was ended by wickedness. With that being explicitly pointed out there is less chance for readers to miss the significance of these and similar events in the sacred record.

Industry driven by ideals

Different ways of service
We marvel that a military leader could be as spiritual as Moroni but I don’t think we ponder that the spiritual leaders – Helaman and the teachers of the church – were as valuable to the people in a period of war as their military leaders were.

Men to shake the very powers of Hell
How do we consistently grow (and be) the kind of men who would shake the very powers of Hell forever? I want to be one and I want my son’s to be four more.

An oath to defend
When we are told that Moroni had sworn an oath to defend his people was that an oath of office for the chief captain? Wad it his path when he brought forth the Title of Liberty? Or was there some other personal oath as referring to?
