Prophecy based on iniquity
Alma was able to priest with such clarity because despite the claims that the righteous can’t understand things of darkness the truth is that the righteous see wickedness and the fruits of wickedness note clearly than the wicked do (even though they may truly not understand the motivation for wickedness that others feel).

I wonder how it felt for Helaman to hear such a specific prophecy from his father about the future for his people.

Moroni didn’t even need to defend himself against the cowardly attack by Zerahemnah because his soldiers were attentive and prepared to defend him with his back turned.

Faith so ingrained
Moroni had faith so integrated into his life that in asking for the Lamanites to surrender he does so by preaching the gospel and testifying of the Lord in their victory.

Continued adjustment
The Nephites were first winning until the Lamanites felt desperate. They then had to be inspired before they could finally conquer the invaders.

Always preparing
Moroni was never done preparing. He was always thinking of new ways to protect his men or gain an advantage over hostile Lamanites.

Armor from the beginning
I didn’t realize before that Moroni had his men in armor from their very first battle under his command. That wasn’t an innovation that he thought of after first leading his men into battle against the Lamanites.
