Some parts were expected
The fact that the Zoramites never spoke of good outside their weekly worship and that they were lifted up in price were things that Alma expected, it was just that they had a day and place of proud worship that caught him off guard.

A clear bias
Based solely on the Rameumptum prayer, which Alma and his fellow missionaries clearly were surprised to see and hear, it could hardly surprise anyone to later find that the Zoramites were very hostile to anyone who accepted the doctrine taught by Alma.

How informed were the missionaries?
Alma knew that the Zoramites had corrupted the fidgetiness but how much did he or those he brought with him know about the specific ways that the truth had been curled along the Zoramites?

Judgement outside the law
The judgements suffered by Korihor had nothing to do with the law of the Nephites. There was no case against him nor any suggestion of punishment. What happened was that he asked for, and received, a sign from God.

Balanced rights
Notice that although Korihor has the right to his beliefs, the people of Ammon also have the right to forcibly but harmlessly remove him from their land when his teachings are unwelcome. No foundation
The doctrine taught by Korihor has no foundation – like a great and spacious building floating in the air which may look cool or inviting but is utterly at odds with reality.

We know that Korihor wasn’t from Zerahemla but it would be interesting to know where he came from and why he felt it necessary to come preach in Zerahemla.
