What was Enos’ purpose?
Enos records that he went to hunt beasts when he prayed all day for a remission of his sins. That makes me ask myself, was he really going for food or was he hunting in an effort to find solitude and answers even if he did intend to bring home some meat in the process.

Our focus on Enos
We focus on enos and his wrestle for forgiveness but I think we fail to recognize how much he teaches us about the work that follows a repentant heart long after forgiveness has been granted.

Enos’ wrestle
I have always assumed that Enos’ experience of praying and receiving a remission of his sins happened after Jacob died but I realize that was just because I read it after Jacob died. It is possible, even likely, that the experience came while he was younger and Jacob was still alive.

Hunger of the soul
Enos’ soul hundred in seeking for a remission of his sins. The fact is that there are many things our souls can hunger for in our lives. The experience of having a hunger of the soul satisfied is one not to be forgotten. In fact, I think some of the other things Enos prayed for…

Enos 1 Enos’ experience took place before he received the plates but when he was given the charge to record those things which would draw people to Christ he felt that he should record that seminal experience in his life which had prepared him to be able to keep that charge and had started him…

Enos – JaromThis experience(s) of Enos took place while Jacob was still alive or else he was born late in the life of Jacob (or both). In fact, I think that what Jacob was talking about regarding the many ways devised to reclaim the Lamanites much of what he saw is also what Enos was…
