    I’m sure that ether want excited by the prospect of witnessing the fulfillment of his own prophecy to Coriantumr. I hope that he was rewarded with being translated after witnessing so much despite his own righteousness and his diligent efforts to bring others to repentance.

    Coriantumr was promised that he would be the last of his people of he didn’t repent. It was the determination of Shiz that ensured that outcome because Shiz wouldn’t relent or admit defeat no matter how great his losses.

    I will never understand why Coriantumr refused the offer from ether that if he were to repent with his household the kingdom would be spared and he would remain king.     I noticed a theme in conference taking about the priests being a vehicle to invite people to Christ. In Ether 12 ether is preaching and inviting people to come to Christ to avoid destruction and as Moroni ads his commentary he is inviting his readers to come to Christ.

    When the people were killing the projects and Com was protecting them, we are told that they processed many things to him. I wonder if those things included the prophecies such as Alma shared with Helaman about the eventual destruction of their people.

    It seems to me that the patterns shown here were not all evident to the people of that time. The people of that day may have seen this as more gray than black and white as it is shown here though revelation.

    The record of Ether is a very high level overview of the pattern of righteousness and wickedness among a people over many years. It bypasses most of the intimate details shared in the record of Nephi but shows the rhythm of righteousness and wickedness among the people.
