  • Coriantum and Com

Coriantum was a righteous king who followed the pattern of his righteous father. His reign must have been a happy time to live among the Jaredites. For all I know Com was following in the footsteps of Coriantum by his reign was cut short by the rebellion and usurpation of his son.

  • Omer and Emer

We aren’t specifically told that Omer was righteous but he was enough in tune with the Spirit that he was warned in a dream when his life was in danger from a secret combination. He eventually regained his kingdom when the rival kingdom ruled by the last of that combination died out due to internal…

  • Kib, Shule, and Others

There are many men in the book of Ether who I can’t be sure whether they qualify as righteous. Kib and Shule represent two distinct classes of these men. With Kib we have no indication as to his righteousness or the righteousness of his people. We know his father was righteous and one of his…

  • Jared

While the brother of Jared plays most prominently in the spiritual history of their people Jared was clearly a humble man of God as well. Jared was humble enough to ask his brother to pray, knowing that his brother was righteous enough to have his prayer heard and to accurately receive the answer that the…

  • Moroni

Moroni was raised amidst wickedness. In all his life he never saw a righteous people. His only experience of such a people would have been in vision and in reviewing the sacred records. I have always thought before that his years after the destruction of the Nephites must have been lonely but I now realize…

Ether 15 How close was Ether to this final battle to record such details?

  • 23 May 2014

Ether 14 I wonder how close we will come to this level of wickedness before the second coming or even before the final conflict after the millennium.

Ether 13 Ether knew of Jerusalem despite the fact that the Jaredites left that hemisphere before it was even known by that name (it would have been Salem when they left ). I have the feeling that despite his shortcomings Coriantumr was probably among the most righteous men among the Jaredites of his time.
