  • A message of joy

When Samuel the Lamanite came to Zerahemla initially it was to declare a joyful testimony. Only after they rejected him did the Lord inspire him to declare a message of repentance to the Nephites.

  • Prime example

Nephi or Moroni (whichever actually wrote this part) is indication that this episode of the Nephites resurrecting the secret combinations so soon after facing destruction over them is a perfect sample of the instability of men.

  • How soon do we forget?

It always amazes me how fast some people return to seeking wickedness after they have repented and purged the wickedness from among them in order to save themselves from destruction.

  • Power and responsibility

Coupled with being given the sealing power Nephi was charged with a responsibility to declare repentance among the Nephites. • Despite

The five who went to verify the prophecy of Nephi believed when they saw despite the despite not to believe. The wicked judges refused to believe despite the evidence before their eyes.

  • Peace vs prosperity

Peace tends to lead to prosperity but in these prosperous times for the posterity of Lehi I find myself along how they could go wrong as they saw the blessings of peace. I realized that if they were paying attention to the peace and understood where the peace came from they would keep the peace…

  • Weary

It was because he was wearing from trying to do good about those who insisted upon choosing the bad that Nephi gave up the judgement seat.

  • Chief Judge Nephi

I never thought before if the fact that Nephi was the current judge during the time when the Nephites lost nearly all their lands to the Lamanites stirred up by Nephite dissenters. What a time that must have been for him. It’s no wonder that he gave up the judgement seat soon after they had…
