How much did Jacob know?
We can look at Zenos’ parable of the olive tree and see many detailed similarities to what will happen among the Nephites. I wonder how many of those things Jacob knew about the future of his people and how many he wouldn’t have known would distinctly mirror the coming history of his people.

The poorest spot
Everything that the omniscient Lord of the vineyard does has an initial result of bringing in more fruit whether that is to graft wild branches into a dying root or whether it is to plant natural branches in the poorest ground of the vineyard.

He will not abandon His children
We must remember that the Lord of the harvest, the master of the vineyard, will not abandon His children. In every case he will do everything possible to rescue them from the grasp of their adversary.
