My new T-Bird
We took Bex to Southern Utah University today and got her moved into her apartment. Thankfully the car worked both ways and we got home safe. Now I need to get the van back so I can have the guys at the shop figure out why it doesn’t start like it used to.

Daddy daughter
Tonight is the Daddy Daughter campout this year and I’m glad that Bex decided to come before she leaves for college on Monday. We’ve had a good time talking this evening while Emma was playing with friends around the campground.

Late night testimony
I stayed up late after my journaling last night because Bex came in and we got talking about her visit with Noelle. We ended up talking about patriarchal blessings and my bearing testimony. Happily although I went to bed after 1AM I was able to be fairly rested without sleeping in too much. I got…

Double purpose
I was feeling unwell this morning and having thoughts from my scripture study when Bex came in to brush her teeth. I invited her to sit down so I could tell her what U was thinking and what I wanted for the family. She saw it as me asking for her perspective (which I was)…

An important shift
This afternoon while Laura was trying to play games with the kids she stopped and called me and Bex in (because we were already in the next room) and talked to the kids about the way they contribute to and perpetuate the very family culture that they regularly complain about. She came away thinking the…

The voice of the Lord
The words of 1 Samuel 3:7 really struck me as I read tonight: Samuel did not yet know the Lord, neither was the word of the Lord yet revealed unto him. 1 Samuel 3:7 They made me think of Mariah who is as yet unfamiliar with the Lord or His voice. I talked to her…

Father’s Day Surprise
For probably the first time in 20 years I was truly surprised this Father’s Day. Laura and the girls (probably Savannah and Mariah) got me balloons with confetti in them and an ice cream cake for Father’s Day. I didn’t have any hint that they had anything when they came out not long after church…
