The priests of King Noah declared that salvation came by the law of Moses. While their answer was wrong it was also meaningless because they didn’t teach the law which they claimed would bring salvation. That fact exposed their hypocrisy in arguing with Abinadi.

When Abinadi came the second time he prophesied that King Noah would know that the Lord was God. That is a direct correction for the pride that Noah had displayed.
