Working together
In true team fashion, Limhi and Ammon called all the people together so that all could voice their views on how to deliver themselves from the Lamanites. They knew that everyone was United in their desire to be delivered.

The coming of Ammon
I never really considered before that Limhi and his people were finally converted after Ammon and his brethren arrived from the land of Zerahemla. Perhaps it was the culmination of their experience plus the words of Abinadi plus hearing about the sermon from King Benjamin that finally brought them to conversion.

Learning or vengeance
Limhi had the choice to exact vengeance against the king of the Lamanites or to learn from him. He chose to find out from the king why they had attacked his people. In doing so he demonstrated his humanity. When he heard the reasons for their attack he promised to take care of the problem.…

President Trump vs King Noah
Every time I read about King Noah I notice the similarities to or current president. Both were comfortable in using anything to their own advantage. Both are proud and those around them who are clever know just how to manipulate then by speaking to that pride.

Baptism seals the covenant
The ordinance of baptism doesn’t make the covenant between the person being baptized and and Heavenly Father. The ordinance is a recognition of an inner covenant. I find it interesting how we see the instability of Noah – that he nearly…

As a root out of dry ground
Would I cling to Christ if I saw him in mortality or would I view him as rough or unpolished – as a root without form growing out of dry ground? I think members of the church often expect that they would see someone like our modern prophets (except younger) who they would look to…

Abinadi spoke with power
The record says that Abinadi spoke with power and authority after Noah had commanded him to be killed but I think he spoke with power and authority before that. It may be just because of their inability to take him away that some others began to recognize the power and authority that he already had.

Leaving a record
I wonder if the prophecy of Abinadi about the people of Noah being destroyed and leaving a record behind was a motivator for Limhi to have the records translated that his people found years later.

Third person
I notice that the language switches from first person to third person after Zeniff confers the kingdom on Noah. This indicates to me that Noah either kept no record and Mormon had to use the words of scorer record keeper or else Mormon had to cut through the vain record that Noah had kept of…
