  • Keeping records

I try to think how it was that Lehi had the records on the brass plates. Of course we know that he acquired then from Laban but why did Laban have records? It was because his father’s kept them because the Jews were a record keeping people. The thing I realized it’s that in most…

  • Newly arrange the affairs

While the Nephites had been led by good kings for three generations, Mosiah recognized that it was time to change the management of their government to avoid the perils that a king could bring upon his people.

  • Future concerns

It seems to me that Mosiah must have asked his sons before their mission among the Lamanites about one of them becoming king after him. Who knows if this discussion too place at the time of their request to preach to the Lamanites or before that time.

Amulon and the priests of Noah taught the Lamanites to read and write but taught them nothing of religion. They sound more like school teachers than Sunday school teachers.

  • Integrity

Integrity of something that can only be 100% – anything less if not integrity. Alma could have tried to lie about the way to the land of Nephi in hopes of protecting his people but because he was a man of integrity he told the truth even at the rush of the Lamanites taking advantage…

  • Depart

Perhaps all prior attempts are freeing themselves had been based on an idea of getting free while retaining their land while this time they were willing to give up their roots to gain their wings.

  • Protected

It might be easy to overlook the protection of the Lord for the people of Limhi. They were in bondage and were repeatedly slain by the Lamanites but the truth is that the Lamanites left them alone for years and only slew them when they attacked their captors. Certainly it was uncomfortable to be burdened…
