  • Much to digest

The second day of conference added several more talks about covenants and prayer. I feel like the Lord was intent on feeding me and giving me the direction I’ve been seeking (our maybe more accurately giving me the motivation to push through the obstacles hunting me in the direction I already knew I needed).

  • More answered prayers

General Conference today was better than it has been in several conferences for me. Right from the first talks I was receiving answers and insights that I need to move forward spiritually. I’m looking forward to tomorrow but I have already been fed enough to keep me busy for 6 months or longer.

  • Making a change

I’m going to try making a change. The first thing I did was delete some saved Minecraft works and then to remove Minecraft from my games folder so that it’s not so easy to default to it. I’m hoping to cull my media use and use my time better again.

  • Half a step taken

I managed to at least attempt to contact my ministering companion to try setting up visits. I will undoubtedly need to follow up and push this through but that first half step is still more than I have done in months.

  • I need to take steps

I’ve been feeling the need to actually make sure my ministering visits happen despite the fact that, as has been the case for most of my adult life, I have a companion that won’t take any action. I can’t really complain since I’m always feeling too busy to take the lead. I’ve been feeling that…

  • Garden spots

Mom showed me what she had in her early garden and it got me thinking that I need to start soon or I’ll lose most of my possible growing for this year again. I went looking outside for where I could set up a garden bed for swiss chard. I’m pleased with how the grass…

  • A place of prayer

I have been wanting to become consistent in turning to prayer but every effort so far has proved temporary at best. I was reading this morning the spirit that teacheth a man to pray and thinking again of what it would take to make prayer a habit as strong as reading the scriptures or brushing…

  • Another puzzle piece

Yesterday I talked about having 5 low-stakes social gatherings for the neighborhood in 5 different locations. I suggested 5 potential locations and noted 3 existing gatherings that we consistently do plus I suggested a couple of other locations/times. Today I saw a post on Facebook about a gathering I didn’t think to include yesterday —…

  • Building community – an actionable idea

I saw a post by Scott Wessman on X today that I declared was the most valuable thing anyone would read on X today. He was talking about the importance of “low-stakes social gatherings.” Not only did he describe why they were important but also why they have dwindled and what the key features were…

  • Out and about

I made a point today to get out and participate in service as Sister Alvord was moving to a retirement community. I used to always participate when there was service and I used to imagine participating in service and having multiple boys tagging along with me. Maybe one day we’ll get something like that but…
