The Book of Mormon opens with testaments to it’s purpose and origin from the author, the translator, and two district groups of witnesses. What work of fiction would (could) go to such lengths to hide it’s fictional nature?

Unpretentious
For a book that claims to be of divine with and origin, the Book of Mormon is remarkably straightforward. From the very beginning and throughout its introductory matter it gives plain explanation for the reader to understand the context and purpose of the work. The is no condescension or obfuscation, just plain and direct recitation.

Title Page of the Book of MormonI am excited to be reading from the Book of Mormon again. Having finished the Doctrine and Covenants, I hope to finish the Book of Mormon this year (as I have at least once each year for the last three years).

Introduction, Title Page, TestimoniesEvery effort has been made to shed light on the creation and translation of the Book of Mormon. Witnesses have been provided and records kept. That stands as a testimony that the Lord works in the light and not in darkness and secrecy.
